30. Always Pay It Forward

Imagine giving the gift of life on Earth.

Imagine, then, taking life from Earth.

Since 1970, human activities have reduced wildlife populations by 60% and reduced habitat impacting 85% of all species [1].

David Attenborough says life won’t disappear tomorrow, yet as long as short-termism wins, tomorrow will arrive, and it will then be too late.

The next webinar on ‘This Century Thinking’ begs the questions:

🔸 What are you paying forward to the future?

🔸 What is your organisation paying forward to the future?

🔸 Do your values align with the values of your organisation?

🔸 What’s the consequence for you and your organisation?

🔸 Are you/they a nett giver or taker of life on Earth?

It was Mark Carney who, as Governor of the Bank of England in 2019, said “Corporations that do not address climate change will go bankrupt?”

A simple shift in how we anchor our decision making may help us pay forward our gift of life with every small step we take. Imagine making better ecological outcomes a reality for our children and theirs.
