4. On value and values

On value and values. We put one in a spreadsheet, others on a wall and live another set at home. So, what’s the chance we’ll ever put people and planet before profit?

This Century, let’s think about value as ONE concept in 3 parts:

*Value* counted, as a number, frequently with a dollar sign that can be manipulated in a spreadsheet but, remember the sign in Einstein’s office: “not everything that counts can be counted, not everything that can be counted, counts.”

*Value* contributed, in what we give, take and use in life to perceive a nett systemic impact on people, society and the planet.

*Value* conceived, that we hold in our being, at our core, and visible in the way we show up at home, in the office and in life.

Imagine these concepts aligning. We stand on what we hold true and engage as part of a system of leadership to create a livelihood that assures a sustainable legacy.

When you next find these concepts out of alignment – in your workplace, in your communities or in your families – how do you show up? Do you show leadership by asking why we’re not aligned? Our livelihoods and legacies depend upon it.
