Mentoring is a traditional practice, as old as the passing of knowledge from master to apprentice, like cathedral builders of past generations.

A traditional practice of a behaviourist paradigm that is not always necessary and never sufficient to meet contemporary challenges.

Richard helps leaders to shift their mentoring style to a mutually constructive paradigm, engaging collaboratively with professionals in time sensitive, safety critical decision making.

Richard calls this Response-able Mentoring. He guides mentors to work with teacherly authority, within systemic frameworks to engage (rather than manage) complexity.

Teacher

I offer 12 Masterclasses across the above three domains.

These are typically 90 minutes in duration, tailored where required.

The Creating Awareness Masterclasses introduce participants to systems approaches, the importance of managing the cognitive complexity and anchoring their design on how they conceive, contribute and count value.

The Maintaining Wholeness Masterclasses introduce participants to the viable systems methodology. VSM is endorsed by the International Society for Systems Sciences as being the only systems approach most closely based in the biological sciences. Participants explore how it helps them connect governance, planning, management, assessment, assurance and production of the value they deliver.

The Assuring Worthiness Masterclasses opens participants to building better models for leadership matched to the complexity of the enterprises they run.

Facilitator - Executive Round Tables / Boardroom Discussion

I draw on my latest research and writing to provoke discussion and facilitate discussion amongst senior executives, to create opportunities for sharing ideas across functional areas and/or industries on systemic issues.

Iā€™d welcome an opportunity to talk with you and explore if and how I might be of assistance to you and/or your members. I welcome your enquiry and look forward to hearing from you.
